T. C. "Nick" Barriger, is a bonded auctioneer registered with the Secretary of State of California. Absolute Auction Co. is his auction company. Bond #61067688. He is a member in good standing of the National Auctioneers Association and an Industry Partner with the Tri-County Apartment Association and California Apartment Association. Absolute Auction Co. is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). While Absolute has only recently joined, the BBB would have registered complaints about the company for the entire length of time it has been in business, even while a non-member, and there have been none.
Nick formed Absolute Auction Co. July 15, 2004. The company celebrated its sixth anniversary July 15 2010. In that six years Absolute has conducted more than 300 auctions of all types; business and estate liquidations, consignments, and abandoned property, which has emerged as a specialty.
Prior to forming his own company, Nick worked with Mike Vendetti at A1 Auction Service, (formerly "The Auction Center,") for nearly eight years. He has managed auctions, and called bids, for just about every type of auction -- estate, business liquidation, consignment, abandoned property, and cars. Mike Vendetti, now retired, was a member of the board of directors for the California State Auctioneers Association, and long-time National Auctioneers Association member.
The name Absolute Auction Co., comes from a term in the auction world, "absolute auction". An absolute auction is one in which each item is sold to the highest bidder without any reserve or minimum price. While the Absolute Auction Co. will do auctions that are not "absolute auctions", they remain Nick's favorite kind of auction. He considers an absolute auction to be the auction in its purest form. Most abandoned property auctions are absolute auctions.
